There is still sometime to get wet this summer at one of the free swimming areas around Copenhagen. If you’re in the the middle of the city then there is no place like the Harbor with its super tall ship like platform. It is one of the trendiest spots for a public outdoor swimming facility and its located on the Islands Brygge. You can reach it by water bus as well, which is a super fun way to navigate through the city with kids. Its open until 8 pm most night and free for all. They are have wading pools for little ones and very high platforms for the daring in your group! Just bring a towel and suit and you’ll be set to swim.
The second place is at Amgerstrand Beach. This super cool wooden structure is perfect for a dip in the sea. With bathrooms, a sunning deck and benches for families it is the prefect place to bring a picnic and go swimming for the day.
The final place is a smaller more intimate swimming area for the ones who shy away from crowds. This is open to the public at different times of the year and summer is one of them. There are 2 small wading areas and a deep swimming hole with obligatory jumping platforms. Bathrooms and picnic area makes this an easy stop by for those on the edge of the city. Svanemølle ( Swan Mill) Beach and Harbour Baths – A short walk from Nordhavn S-train station. Stranden bemandet med livreddere fra 23. juni til 31. august, fra kl. 10 .00 til kl. 18.00, men er naturligvis åben døgnet rundt, året rundt.
