Copenhagens Literature Festival

kids_copenhagenCopenhagens Literature Festival for children has many activities through out the city during the week of March 1 – 8, 2015.  Here is a translated version of the activities for the week.  To see the original schedule in Danish, click here.
There many links that say read more, but are not activated below.  To see the more you will have to go to the Danish website, but we wanted to give you an overview of events in english so that you could chose the ones that suits you and your mini’s.  Enjoy! Special focus on literature for children and young people.

Copenhagen Reader 2015 a special focus on literature and children – both younger and older children. It is important to initiate a reading culture in children, and Kbh Reads would like to contribute to this effort. Therefore, they have a festival that will make literature alive for children.

Below are the events that are specifically targeted at young people and children:

Children’s Book Festival North: author-readings with Benni Bødker

Benni Cooper is a popular author of children’s books and writing in many different genres. He is especially known for its gory zombie and vampire stories. His books are readily available, are often beautiful illustrated and has a strong appeal to children. The event is targeted school groups, but all are welcome.

BORDER – a notion of limits and human understanding

Love takes many forms. The theater lamp examines what limits and rules does to us as human beings. What happens if we dare to open up, overcome fear and reach out to others? How do we meet other people? The show lasts about 40 min. Come early. The set design is created by visual artist Kørner and directed by Søren Iversen. Music by Jonas Stampe, Ejaz Ali and Peter Jankovic. Actors: Siir Tilif and Anne Nøjgaard.

Children’s Book Festival North: Line Kyed Knudsen reading aloud of the crime series 2620

2620 is the postcode in Alberton. Here lies the West Forest, an area without adult control that plays a central role in the action. Viggo and his best friend Mustafa piled into the mysteries of the best children’s detective-style. The books are really well put together and they are both exciting and fun throughout.

Hans Andersen and Bertel Thorvaldsen knew each other and were in the same circles. Hans Andersen was somewhat younger than Thorvaldsen and looked up to him. Several of his tales and stories are downright inspired by Thorvaldsen, his art and his museum. In the workshop we shall hear one of these adventures, which is about love. Afterwards, the students in the Hans Christian Andersen’s footsteps and use the museum and the many love stories that are found here, as inspiration for their own adventure. They collect ideas through sketching and keywords. Students receive educational material that also serves as notebook and sketchbook.

Hans Andersen and Bertel Thorvaldsen knew each other and were in the same circles. Hans Andersen was somewhat younger than Thorvaldsen and looked up to him. Several of his tales and stories are downright inspired by Thorvaldsen, his art and his museum. In the workshop we shall hear one of these adventures, which is about love. Afterwards, the students in the Hans Christian Andersen’s footsteps and use the museum and the many love stories that are found here, as inspiration for their own adventure. They collect ideas through sketching and keywords. Students receive educational material that also serves as notebook and sketchbook.

We invite adventurous children and their (best) parents teaterleg, drawing and narration in særarrangementet "The book about Teddy and the Chinese princess".
