The Dragon Playground in Kongens Have in the centre of Copenhagen is a little fairytale retreat from the hustle and bustle of town. It’s one of the few playgrounds in Copenhagen which is fenced in with hedges and has only one entrance. This makes it an ideal space for toddlers to explore without wandering off. (I spent many an autumn morning here with a two year old running around and a baby sleeping in the pram). The playground has four corridors off a central island. The island is surrounded by a sand filled moat and is home to a huge bronze egg which is guarded by two large wooden dragons. Situated in the beautiful gardens, next to Rosenborg Slot it’s a tranquil spot with excellent facilities. Food can be bought at the café and toilets are located right next to the playground.
